The first New York solo exhibition of Queens based artist collective LazerHappy presents a series of baby blue automotive painted AK47s, two large-scale pop-inspired paintings, and the debut of a line of wallpaper and shopping bags emblazoned with the LazerHappy logo. The work references pop themes, street art and psychedelia while Automatik Kalashnikov 1947 (2007), a series of five automotive painted AK47 assault rifles encourages visitors to interact with the rifle, which reveals the hardness and heft of an actual, quite deadly weapon.

Rafik is proud to present The Immortality Project, a group show exploring artists' meditations on death. Video, painting, drawing, collage and sculpture will be presented.
Life can be summed up as an elaborate and convoluted race against death. This is evident in many symbolic human actions, most dramatically in the creation of art. The artist creates a legacy of ideas and images that will transcend death. This show is a survey of artist's musings on death: attempts to outrun it through exercise, prayer, drugs, and the immortal artwork itself.
